Possibility of connecting a turntable to a microphone pre amp

Does anyone have recommendations on particular turntables to do this with? I'm looking to sample records with the following chain:

Turntable -------> Great River MP-2NV mic pre ----------> Apogee Duet ---------> DAW.

I'm very much used to using the mic pre for pretty much anything I put into the DAW and in my mind samples are instruments themselves so I'd treat them the same way bringing a little extra coloring and enhancing some of the frequencies.

However, I need to hit the mic pre with XLR balanced or instrument hi-z.

Are there turntables that can do this?

Thanks!

no and no

You need to use a turntable preamp first, simply to convert the recording in the vinyl format into properly equalised audio first - the vinyl is cut with the RIAA eq curve which de-emphasises bass and emphasises treble, so when playing back you need to apply the inverse eq which re-emphasises the bass and de-emphasises the treble

And, yes, while you can apply this curve digitally, it is better done electronically, much earlier in the processing chain.

From the Turntable preamp into your mic preamp via xlr is then quite possible
