Thank you very much for sharing!

Now that I listened to it: my first impression is that Just Blaze's version sounds so much better than the original in my opinion.
    Damn how he did it?

It was a video interview at red bulls academy, I thought everybody on here had seen it. He said that he quit using his mpc, and he said he used Pro Tools with Battery and Purity. He also uses Reason.

And he made it sound better than the original song by chopping it up in real hip hop spirit and then added the hip hop drumz so he made the whole thing sound hippedy hop to da streetz!

Thanks for the info. You know, I thought he loves his MPC, so I couldn't believe it actually. Did he mentioned some reasons for the change, like more control and freedom and stuff?
Now I would love to know what he uses for sampling, he probably samples now by ear AND eye right? And do you know which beats are made with PC, maybe the new ones on Jay-Z's album?
Maybe I should watch the interview before asking questions

Yes that's true, and I noticed that he used a lot EQ and Compressor and maybe some stereo plugins and other filters, because his version is more dynamic and loud and it sound a lil different like I said.

EDIT: I'm watching the video right now, it's definitely too long man.^^
I can't undestand clearly what he says unfortunately.

He said something like "why should I continiue with my mpc when I can do it faster on a computer" etc.. And maybe he just has a different version of the genya ravan song? Maybe he sampled it off vinyl instead of downloading it as an mp3 off Fp

He may have had it replayed it through session artists or those folk who recreate samples, just like what he did for Dipset's "I Really Mean It."

I didnt realise chopping by ear was such a skill?

I Really Mean It was not replayed. if you really listen to that song you can still hear the drumroll in the sample. you can hear it better in the intrumental. which i have.
chopping by ear is what we all should be doing, even if your using a wave editor. seeing the wave should make your chops better. thats just what i think anyway.
