isolating horns

Anyone have any tips on isolating horns from drum hits, or minimizing the drum hits and accentuating the horns? Can this be done in Cool Edit with the filters? If this can't be done I'd also like to know.

lots of eq ur not gonna completely lose them but bringing up the frequencies u need and lowering the ones u dont will cover the ones u dont want a lot then lay ur drums on top

Trial and error...

and you'll just about never isolate a horn from a drum...

You may be able to scoop the low out of a kick, but snares and horns basically take up about the same frequencies...

@500-2000 at least the majority...

filter with a high pass at the inital beginning of the kick. but not too muc, wetting. try to get as much low end out possible.

it really wont hurt that much if the kick is heardable. it could add flavor to the horns.

i got so much of them horns and kick combos, on my samples, i just bother to miess wit em.
