Seriously, so much good music has passed through our years you can't help but look at the stuff out now as mostly straight trash.
I'm not surprised that those songs were sampled, or that almost everything is sampled even nowadays. The sampled tracks for the most part give that "other level feel" to any music... BUT I've been deprived and didn't know where the samples were from at all. So my mind is blown hah.

a lot of songs that you never expected to be samples are samples. sampling in hip hop is alive and well
I get into arguments with people all the time about sampled songs. Like how no one I knew knew that "Dey Know" came from "Children of the Sun" by Mandrill. But I guess if you don't really crate dig or listen to a lot of older music you wouldn't know...
