How did J dilla chop this sample?

I think he just cut those high synth sounds as 'hits', so he could use them to create his own melody, then threw some reverb/delay on that track to get some 'space' out of it. I think he also cut the 'fluttering' synth and underlying arpeggio in a loop where there wasn't any of the aforementioned sound playing (maybe in 2 parts) and put that under the recreated melody.
Then again, you never know with Dilla Dawg...

PEACE!

There are parts on the chop that sound missing from the original sample.

I Tried remaking it in FL studio and could not find the beginning part of the chop, I am guessing it is not just a straight loop? Also certain sections of the sample seem to be cut out to give the beat its tempo, the crazy thing is how it manages to sound so smooth and even the guitar riff in the background keeps perfect rhythm despite the odd chops.

I am pulling my hair out trying to reverse engineer this beat.
