    i was listening to the isley brothers and came across a bunch of samples jay dee used. he used don't say goodbye to make so far to go.

    does any one know how he made that beat. i couldnt figure it out. listen to it youll see.
    if anyone does know will yall remake it?

    The part he used is at the very end of the song...that's why most people can't figure out how he did it because everywhere else is voice on it..

    thats what i figured but it starts to fade out and certain parts arent there...are they from the beginning too? anyway im gonna try to make abeat with that song

    damn...this is from common's new album?

    It looks like there are two different sets of lyrics, cause i youtubed it and found one where common is rapping hella quiet and another where he says that line about, "you the only one on the west coast".

    Was this on Donuts or something?

    Yeah it's "Bye" on Donuts. Ridiculous beat. I saw this youtube video which played a clip of "Bye," then a segment of the original song he sampled, if you listen real close you can figure it out for the most part. Can't find it anymore though, pretty sure it got removed.

    I tried for awhile to remake that song but I just couldnt get it. I tried every thing I could think of but never came anywhere close and decided to just move on. If any one decides to go for it you should post your results.

    Remaking beats is pretty hard to do, also cause you have to keep in mind that those producers had access to more advanced technology than a lot of us on here.

    "It Ain't No Fun", for example...you'd think it would be easy, but it's not.
