Good indie samples

anybody out there sampling any good indie rock bands?
 
Hell yah! I've sampled The Shins, Pinback, Armor for sleep(guess thats not exactly indie) to name a few. Probably more that I don't remember.
 
Usually very compressed, close to no dynamic range, no open drum breaks, no open instruments, no solos. I know there will be exceptions but I wouldn't go into the indie section when record digging. At all.
 
I dont sample indie, as much as I do metal, but ima try to do it more, since people say its difficult, its probaly just as hard as early rock n roll ala chuck berry and elvis etc

true true. I've gotten some good samples out of a few "indie" songs, but the only reason I really found them is because wifey listens to it. Your right tho, there's a lot better places to spend your time digging.
 
sampling indie music is just not my style. it's too modern sounding for my taste. i don't really like the sound of modern rock, unless they're going for an older sound on purpose like Grizzly Bear or Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti.
