Anyone that tries to say your music is whack just because you use a certain program or instrument is just plain stupid

Don't let other people discourage you. FL Studio has alot of drawbacks out of the box. I started on Fruity Loops 3 and have since moved onto better programs. That said I still went out and bought FL Studio 9. There are things that FL does that other programs simply don't do as easily. Not necessarily better. But not as easily. And sometimes workflow is way more important than initial quality. If you upgrade some of the things you use in FL such as drums, eqs, and instruments/ vsti's, you can get pretty good stuff outta FL studio. Things FL makes difficult: Mixing, On-The-Fly Quantizing, Recording Wav's (more of an interface thing but still a valid argument) and advanced sequencing (drops, time stretching and automation). Things FL makes great: Pretty much everything else! Midi, Vsti compatibility, Basic Sequencing.
