hi, i was wondering what are the techniques that you guys use to filter a sample...
sometimes i cut some of the bass & sometimes i boost the high frequencies, depending on the sample ...i was just wondering if there are other methods u can share with me
thanks

Filtering just depends on the sample and what you want out of it.
High pass, band pass, low or high are used when you need them.
No real secret to it.

Peace

It's completely dependant on what you want to get out of the sample. If, for instance, you wish to take a falsetto operatic voice without the booming tom drums, then you would obviously put a high-pass filter on the sample; the opposite would be said if you wished to take out the bassy toms from the sample.

on ableton i'd use equalizer 3 and use that to cut the low/mid/high and then use a compressor to boost those frequencies. I guess you could use a multiband dynamics aswell.
