Drum techniques

Yo whats up everybody just want to know what different peoples techniques are for making your drums sound fatter. For instance those early mobb deep productions where they had that destinctive snare sound. I know it has alot to do with layering. Like a clap on the snare and an 808 on the kick drum. So try and get more technical with it all the way down to the eqing you know like trying to emulate a real drummer your help will be extremely appreciated.

i just use three different kicks...3 diff snarez And 3 diff hats.....for themobb deep sound.,.....u reverb the snare...im only 14 so i dont know much

the best thing to do to get hot drums that hit is to take a drum hit into a wave editing program like soundforge and just play with effects until you get a sound you like .

i boost the low end of my kick some say it makes it too muddy but the sound works for me

i layer a deep 808 bass with the pitch turned down like 3/4 over the bass hit i want.

i started out as a drummer before trying to produce, so i never really had a problem with drums, but the mastering is difficult, it can change a whole track positively and negatively.
