I sample all my beats and ive been using samples to make beats like clams casino but i really want to do more samples with old 70's soul music. Does anyone want to shoot me some names of artists?

Start schooling yourself: Soul : Significant Albums, Artists and Songs, Most Viewed : AllMusic
I hear Carly Rae Jespen has some dope music to sample
finding the sample yourself gives you half the pleasure of digging... so... go dig! and dont stick to a genre. pick up a wack ass looking record and **** that shit up
The Beatips Manual by Said has a list of artists and albums in the back that is pretty good...That book is a must have for producers of hip hop..Vital info..and he has interviews with Premo, D.R. Period, 9th Wonder and more...and get books like the All Music Guide to Soul and The All Music Guide to Hip Hop..they are like dictionaries..You can learn a lot from these 3 books. Good Luck!!
You can sample whatever you want
Just listen to old music, new music, weird music
the choice is yours
You got the internet as a playground

Im new to beatmaking (composing as i like to think of it lol)... Starting from not knowing anything and still have long ways to go... about 4 months now...
What i dont understand is why people continue to ask for sh*t to sample.. if u dont care what you sample then pick anything that plays continuously on the radio and sample that... If you do care then NO ONE CAN HELP NOR HINT to what you should sample. Go Digging, i dnt own a table nor vinyl (tho i will soon) but best beleive everyday im DIGGING the infinite web for names, release dates and artist. It blows me to keep reading about ppl asking what,how,where... Just DO, your ears are doing all the work anyway
Some good artists to get you started are people like: Issac Hayes, James Brown, Roy Ayers, Diana Ross, Nina Simone, Ahmad Jamal, John Coltrane, Alice Coltrane, and Miles Davis.
Dig and find your how personal shit... No limit there... That's the beauty of sampling.
It's better to sample from something you like.
