I lately noticed more 8o's soul is sampled...hence terrorsquads true story and the last mephis bleek album ...

Have we sampled everything from the 70's
or is this just a little trend?

I think 80's soul is already out there...

If anything, obscure samples, chopped samples, and composing are goin to be next on the block if everything goes in cycles...

80's sampling was done in the 90's and now we are trying to re-create the samples with a twist i.e just means producers working with live music now can be like ROB BASS YOU TO SAY "creative" ...bust it

I dunno about 80s soul samples, but people are definitely using ****ty 80s drum machines a lot right now.
and I know I just sampled an 808 break from an 80s Aretha Franklin album, so you can bet everyone's gonna be biting my style soon.

Cool and Dre (who do alot of production for TS) said that they've been sampling 80's records alot. actually in their SCRATCH interview, they said to not even bother sampling 80's records cuz they've already got to 'em.

the one element i would dig about 80's records is the gloss that alot of them have because of synths that were used and the fact that alot of the records were mixed high and mid level heavy. the Soul records, i dunno. i'm lucky enough to remember the 80's so i can speak for my own taste.

I'm gonna change the game with some old school Thai music called Mor Lum! It's funky and twangy. I'm just waiting for some equipment to come through the mail.
On my link the Going Back to Thailand beat I made almost two years ago is from a 1980 Thai song.

I think i can find some samples from the 80's that Dre will never think about touching them and make a track with'em...Theres too many records out there to say that. dre is one of the top dogs but i disagree...
