this stemed from nautilus being 5:05 and recycle having a time limit for the length of songs it will load.. for some retarded reasoning thats beyond me.

half the songs i want to sample are longer than 5 minutes. having to open a separate program, cut up the original, convert the file type, keep track of copys, all this bull**** stems from a lack of compatability, ****ing up my work flow. im in the mood then have to take a break to deal with this ****. and often that interlude turns out to be the end of my motivation.

what programs do you guys use? i only use recycle because i use reason.

any and all opinions and recomendations are welcome, thanks in advance

i use recycle and adobe audition before that. its not that big a deal really. ive never needed 5 minutes of a song, and frankly id hate to chop that much anyway but really because i never needed a full song. there may be 1 minute in the beginning wit the intro and some vocals, 20 seconds in the breakdown, and u have more than enough for a beat. saying **** recycle is ridiculous though, because the other methods out there are so slow. would u rather open that file in audacity, hilight your chops and save them one by one? nothing is faster or easier than recycle and if you're song being too long is preventin u from usin it how u want it, cut off some intro or outro or better yet cut the parts u want in adobe or audacity, put them together in the multitrack, then cut it up in recycle. 5 min sample is ridiculous, how can the sample be longer than the track, there is obviously mad parts of the song you're not going to use, nah mean?

Not to turn this into a debate of any sort, but in all fairness, this is a $200 Audio/Loop Editor. Why is it so limited from acheiving things that ever freeware does.

No Audio Record function, No importing of MP3, MP4, WMA, Flac, only Wav and Aif with a time limit of 5:00? No timestretch?

If they get half that stuff right on Recycle 3 I'll buy it the day it comes out. I just thing recycle can be one of the biggest wastes of time depoending on how you sample. Works for some, just don't understand how even the Demo ver. of FL can Edit a loop from any audio source, timestrect it, and export your loop as multiple .wavs chopped up to load into NNXT on seperate keys to flawless timing, and no crackles, but Recycle can mess up so easily and is more limited for $200.
Two things that annoy me are people who are positive out of ignorance, and people who are negative out of bitterness. People who are neither usually get along with me and agree with most of what I say. People who are one of the 2 think I'm the other.

But then again many people choose Recycle for a reason (no pun intended) and all Software you buy will have it's pro's and con's.
You just have to pick your battles and spend your money wisely.

Cosign deranged. I have recycle, it is so incredibly disruptive to my workflow that it has me daily cnsidering switching to hardware lol, please don't preach about it being good and useful unless you use it. It's so inconvenient, and using audition then recycle then loading to reason is a bytch. If you want to edt the chops again, you have to shut down reason otherwise it won't recognize the changes you made even if you save it as a different file and reload it into the nnxt. It's a horrible and uninspiring system, pure shyt for workflow, I know from experience

I'm pretty sure the OP was not actually trying to use 5 minutes worth of song to sample lol. Just say you have a song want to sample the first 30 seconds of you have load it into another software like someone mentioned before just to chop it down to less than 5 minutes before chopping what you want in recycle. Not really a big deal to me but it would be easier if you could go straight to Recycle.

I guess I never thought about it that way because I don't download samples. It would be nice to have a record feature in Recycle so I could record my samples directly into the program.
