vinyl help

im a beginner at vinyl and turntables.i just hooked up ma usb tt.vinyl is nice,but i got a few questions some of the more experience people could help me wit.If i wanna rewind a part on the record,can i keep the needle on it so i can find it easier or will it damage the needle?

also is there any tips in finding certain parts like lookin at the grooves,like i said i dont know much so i woould appreciate any help

Yes you can go ahead and rewind the table, while its playing, just not all crazy cause you can break the needle,

and to find breaks, the best tip is to listen to the whole track without interuptions, sumtimes at night before i sleep i lay down with sum records playing, jot down what songs i want to jack, and wake up the next morning and do it
 
as long as your tt is direct drive you can backspin it. If you have a belt drive tt then it's a pain in the ass. And yes the break in a song will look different than the rest of it. ;)

one more question,if the record is scratched will it damage the needle?
