Is variation key in sampling?

I know in any song, variation to the song is key to make it feel less boring, now that can come from from drum patterns, melodies, effects whatever.

when sampling, say I have a 4bar melody I've made with the sample
would it be wack to use that same 4 bars and loop it all song with different drum patterns and effects or would u reccomend maybe trying to use the chops to make something different for say the last 8 bars or the verse or something different for the chorus?

What approach do you guys take?
Any suggestions?

I usually put some FX on the track, and in the verse or pieces of the song where the rapper needs to "come out" of the mix, I cut the high frequencies from the sample. In the chorus I get the high frequencies back in to make the chorus hit really hard.

Like I did on this track: Beat Name - Feel Good Beat Sqwad
