Sampling Soundbite

This may be a noob question but does anyone know how to sample sounds from a film, or video, computer game, for example i like the sound of a noise that is made in the playstation game Crash Bandicoot, and I was wondering if anyone knows how to get the sound onto your hardware.

sample the rca outs on the ps1 to the inputs of your sampler u may need a converter cable
