A couple of questions on sampling


1. When im sampling how would you detect the tempo of the song if the song has no drums or snare?


2. If I cut 2 sample loops and one is longer than the other how would I make them play so it sounds right?


3. If I were to layer an acapella on to a sample/beat how would I make the voice fit the tempo of the song?

1. Listen to the sample and get a feel for its groove then once you feel you've got it use tap tempo (if your software or equipment has that feature) to tap it out. It should be pretty close. If you don't have tap tempo count how many beats are in 10 secs of your sample then multiply your result by 6 and you'll have the bpm

2. Just play them one right after the other in a way that sounds right to you
