I went to a lecture on sampling a couple months ago. DJ Spooky was a speaker. Afterward, I thought it would be useful to create a document highlighting a variety of application and technique approaches to sampling. This summary outlines the extensive ways that sampling has become part of the production process. For instance, while it is common to think of sampling as using a phrase as a motif, sampling is also a form of synthesis, and is used to model reverb.
