If your sample is 4/4 measure, (most are) its easy... I will that guess you know how to make a loop. YOu have to look at the length of the sample in seconds. Various length`s in time correspond to bpm. A sample of 2.0 sec length is 120 bpm`s. 2.4 sec is 100 bpm etc...
I have a bpm list from 75 bpm to 160 so I can paste it here if you want.

Sometimes your loop wont fit, like it will be between 100 and 99 bpm so you have to adjust it with stretch to fit.

Acid had a nifty little tool thats lets you match the song to a metronome. DL a demo of it or buy it... it makes beatmapping pretty easy

If you use fruity then all you have to do really is make a loop and then stretch as an audio clip in the playlist. If you`re not using this feature I suggest you do,real easy to use...

YOu have 4 modes in which you can manipulate sample, the resample method effects pitch and tonal keeps the pitch and it doesnt effect length, I think it uses granular synthesis. The thing with audio clips is that you cant play it as a sample like you would within fruity`s sampler...if you want to mess with the audio clip you have to put on its own channel in the mixer and then drop effects.
Good thing with audio clips is that you have a visual of the sample (loop),something fruity missed compared to other sequencers.

However even with this I write down the bpms in the loop name, makes stuff easier.
