Sample Clearence Experience ...

I was wondering what yall doing to get samples cleared when commercially released ?
What are your experiences - does your label / artist care bout this, or do you use agencies n' stuff ?
Maybe also any recommendations for beginners would be appreciated in this thread ...

I personally always use agencies, they can get you good deals with the rights holder, but are damn pricey too ...
Also sometimes the labels cares bout sample clearence, but mostly majors when you're working with signed artists ...

for my first placement the record label of the artist cleared the sample. the artist we sampled gets 60% publising of the song lol smh
