sample based pads

i have no idea how to make a good pad's...actually, just found out one way tho, running samples through orange vocoder...but still, i would like do know more bout makin pads outta samples...so if anybody got any tips then please let me know.

one thing to experiment is using granular synthesis. add filtering and effects like chorus or reverb.

one way is to sample a single chord, sevenths work nice...take a pad, string, rhodes sound, hold a chord down and sample it, then play it back with single notes.
