Hi FP,

I'm new to sampling and I've just considered my method. Firstly, I choose any song that I want to chop. Later, I put it to Edison and there start to chop. I've watched some methods on youtube, but the one I use is to choose some parts of song, chop it and put to FPC (I'm using FL Studio) and later play this as an instrument.

I'm not sure if it's right way to get good sound. What do you think?

It is all about experimentation and finding your own workflow!

I chop in Edison as well. I then sometimes use the audio in the sequencer, or I will put the samples onto my PadKontrol or Keyboard. I like to really manipulate my samples with pitch, reverb, fx. Just have fun, if you've just started making your own music, that's what it's all about.

I try and cut (truncate) the sample into a perfect loop before I chop it up... Just seems to make chopping (and time stretching on Maschine) easier...

sometimes I'll take several parts of a song (or several parts of several songs) but I always take at least a bar even if I only want one sound from it - again because it make time stretching on the Maschine much easier.
