PC vs MAC

ok, I got about 300 beats that ive made in everything from fruityloops 3 to logic 5 and now i use reason 4 all on a pc...but im seriously considering moving over to a mac...my question is will i be able to import these songs to a mac if i use the appropriate program. ie; reason for mac etc...

yea, all Reason files will open and Logic 9 should be able to open Logic 5 files as far as I know, as for FL, that doesn't support Mac OS so you'd have to use something like Crossover to be able to run it and open your files.

you can import all of your .wav files into a mac DAW if you've bounced them. if you are wanting to load your project files into mac, there is a Mac version of Reason 4. but there is not a mac version of FL Studio. However, i have been using "CrossOver" for mac, which can run some Windows software on the Mac. (but i found it to be sort of laggy). I've never used Logic 5, but i know there is Logic 9 for Mac.

bootcamp - is anternative os for mac it help you run windows on a mac - this shouls help - damn mac is jus to expensive - plus i got all the vst in my deposile -tdm i aint a fan of them plus the cost twice as much is vst's -theres a saying if aint broke dont fix -if its been working for you then thats your formula - jus dont jump cause everybody else does -ya digg -peace

all the reason, pro tools, logic files r universal for mac or pc as long as its not an older version of the program ur tryin to use..

ive had a mac for like 3 yrs its 1000000 times better than a pc IMO.. as they say, u get wut u pay for nd macs r well worth it just based on the simple fact youll never get virsus' or ne malware to ur comp.. the processing speed is top notch nd it holds so much ram to run ne nd all programs wit no lagging at all..

nd mac has this thing calld bootcamp that runs windows on mac.. ive never personally used it but ive never heard ne badd stuff about it

I'm moving to Mac because i need more power...I'm tired of freezing,glitches,etc... but now the next delima??? Pro Tools Or Logic Studio.

ps. I never drop vocals at home.

You get what you pay for? Friggin $1300 should come with a dvd burner no? Mac is wack my brother....you wont get malware either if you stay off all those porn sites and quit downloading pirated software and torrents. Processing speed....you can get a pc for way cheaper with 2x as much speed....and ram has nothing to do with it you can put just as much ram in a pc as in a mac.....the only things mac has going for it is yes...no viruses but as i stated thats an easy fix if you arent addicted to porn, and the cool trendy feeling you get by owning one.

...In the words of the great Flava Flav.....Don't believe the hype!

wordd...i was just about to post a thread about this,i been wanting to kno how to get fl studios on mac....where can you get this "crossover" or "bootcamp"

ive had a mcbook for a couple months now, wouldnt go back to PC.. better in so many ways. I got logic pro 9 but no midi controllers to use it yet hahah.

Your best option would be to install windows xp,vista or 7 in bootcamp which already come with Snow Leopard and simply dual boot and export the beats as wav files.
I'm agnostic because I have both a Macbook Pro and a PC and I wouldn't say that Mac is better but their OS is much better than Windows but I hate the closed system mentality and I love the modular approach of PC's,there's more freedom and It's my platform of choice for production
but boy do I love my Mac to surf the Net.
I had problems with PC's when I wasn't taking care of my computers but
I've discovered Ccleaner,AVG and Spybot and never had major problem and my Dell Vostro rarely crashes although I did have some drivers issues.
I actually had to make a tough decision and I can't keep both laptops and I'm going back to the PC world but eventually when I'll have more dough,I'll pick up another Macbook Pro and a PC desktop.

Dual boot is your best friend and if you get a Mac,its pretty easy to use bootcamp, imo:)

I just went back to PC from Mac. Don't believe the hype. It's not worth 3X the price. I have a BEAST of a Windows 7 PC laptop for $850. Woulda cost me $2500 easy for a Mac. Besides, Macs don't have i5 processors yet ;)

never thought i'd be saying this, but it's true.

Or if you're prepared to spend a little time ****ing around with it, you can build yourself a stable Hackintosh on a non-mac PC, Twice the power, Fraction of the Price.

I really dont see where the huge price tags come from, sort of like apple is trying to charge you an extra 500 for an OS. As Pelican said, a Powerful or even same spec'd PC as a Mac will be far cheaper.

EDIT: + With options to expand it if it starts to head towards the lower end of the PC power spectrum, which is only really available on the higher priced Mac Pros (and even then not a whole deal)

I dont know about viruses, but i know a couple people whos macs froze because of some quicktime era on facebook

Lol

I don't know much about the specs of the new macs or new pcs, but it's allwqys been my understanding that macs were made for video and audio production.
It seems more stable to me.
I can't really talk **** about them cause I've only used them a little bit.
They seem powerful to me, and atm I'm considering getting one because I'm sick of my pc running slow and glitchy. And it's a generally new comp too.
I think it's just personal prefrence
