Original Tempo

I'm mainly using a MPC 2000XL for my sampling, but sometimes I like to use Cool Edit pro to cut what I want to sample before I go into the MPC, saves time for me to try to cut it right on the MPC...what else can I use besides FL?

FL is the most accurate imo, even with auto-detect...but if the automatic tempo detection seems off to you, your best bet is to just use the tap feature like noble said, it never fails me

Yo I figured this out by mistake today. I was using other methods for finding the original tempo, but now this is my main method.

So chop up your sample using Sony SoundForge 8.0 and then send that wav to Acid.
Then right click on the side bar of the wav and put set to original tempo and then it will tell you the original tempo which somehow seems to be already timestretched. It works wonders so far.

Much better than Mix Meister BPM analyzer.
