ok i got an mpd 24 and fl studio 9 , so my question is when i sample should i filp the sample first and then make beat "drums" or just make the drums and then try to sample on it ? and can u guys give me some times with sampling on mpd like some tips to chop up samples and anything i should know, thanks

I lay down the sample first, so I don't have to change the drums to match the sample.. My advice would be do whatever the fuk you wanna do..

I usually do the same, chop the sample up finding parts that I like, lay those pieces out into a loop and then build other instrumentation on from there. Usually do that for chorus, verse and maybe a break/coda as well. But I agree with kebeats; do what you want, you're your own master when it comes to art.

Depending, if I want the sample to ride with the drums, I'll do drums first. If I want the sample to sound closer to the original I'll do drums after I flip.
