need some help with pro tools 8 and the mpc 1000!!!!

I know this ain't the section to post this but since most people on this section I said **** it......anyways I need some help connecting my mpc 1000 to my pro tools 8 I just got a usb midi interface and I can't get it to run with pro tools 8 if y'all can help that would be much appriciated thank y'all!

first open a new session in pro tools . connect the usb/midi cable to mpc. got to setup / midi then to beat clock and it should show you a list of devices you have that are connected via midi select the device. on your mpc scoll the wheel to set the midi to the channel you have the cables hooked in ie 1A. set the tempo of the beat you are going to record in pro tools create the number of tracks you need for your beat and then start recording

audio does not travel through midi...

mpc outs to audio ins of your interface. manuals are your friend.
