need HELP .sampling

ok..shoot me for this one..

I want to sample from old records..and i got the turntables, and m-audio firewire solo interface..and for software i got acid/cool edit....can i make this work??..if not what else do i need?
 
well i the only this i could do..is plug the turntables into the s/pdif in&outs.....if that way works..now how would i do it to get adobe to record it
