Names for samples/sounds you don't know...???

What do you name a "sound" or sample where you don't know what created the "source" (instrument/vocal etc.)...BUT...you still want to give it a "name" so you can distinguish it from others...???

i.e. FX sounds.

For example, if the sample..."sounds" like a jet/plane taking off...is it ok to call it "Jet Riser"...??? Or if it sounds like a laser...Should I call it "Laser Shot"...???

Help..?!
 
the more descriptive the better

learn the sound of the basic waveforms as well as sometimes being able to name them as square or saw or triangle is also helpful
