The big thing I love doing whenever possible, is simply playing it in reverse. 7 times out of 10 it sounds like pure evil, but the times it doesn't it's like pure magic. haha I also like to over lap various parts of the sample to create a brand new sound. Also, I almost always slow the tempo wayyy down. I like my beats to stay in the 70's range.
