making a sample GRIMEY???

any tips on how to make a sample sound nice and grimey? you know, give it that "street"/Dj Premier type feel...

Try using some guitar amp sims to add some nice tube warmth and distortion.

sample it at a super high speed and then pitch it down in your sampler.

you'll also save mucho RAM!

this is the best way and the comment about sampleing at 45 and lowering it down later. That brings out the sound. But if you have an older sampler you can just choose a lower sample rate.
