hey so i gotta question about looping a sample. Here goes when im selecting a part in a sample to either chop or loop and i hear a part that i would like to loop and it s not in a 2 or 4 etc common bar phrase . So say its like 5 or 9 or some weird number for example. Can i leave it like that if thats how i hear it? or should i try and chop it make it in a common loop of like 2 or 4 or 8 etc?

if any understands what im saying plz any help would be great.

thanks and have nice day lol

you can do anything you want with the sample or beat. its all about being creative. but if you do chop it down just make sure it still sounds good to you.

Basically what beatarama said, you can do whatever you want. But, if you don't want it to be an odd number, i suggest that you chop up the loop and rearrange it so it can make sense in 2,4,8 etc. I think that i had situations like this, and i think that i would often make one of the chops repeat in the loop in order to make the whole pattern sound right. I hope i make sense lol.
