I sampled Smashing Pumpkins - 1979

it's "alright"...stressing the alright.
The drum pattern is good and you're on the right track but this is just a drumbeat over a sample of someone elses composition. Doesn't sound like it took more than 10-15min to me.

It's important to add more than just drums if you wish to do something noteworthy. Put some more effort into creating instrumentation around the sample or editing/playing the sample. Just playing a straight shot or loop of the main idea of someone elses hit song; then adding a drum track to it isn't the best way for you to gain skill or progress beyond the basics. Don't take this the wrong way but, anyone with a DAW or drum machine can do that.

For something as high caliber as that song, I really expected alot more effort to be placed into the project. When you sample something as musically good as this, you have to do it justice...or don't do it at all. Simply said, there is more work to be done here.
