I need to replicate the drums and the lead synth sound from "Hip Hop Be Bop" by Man Parrish (go to iTunes to hear it if you dont know the song). WHAT DRUM MACHINE IS THAT (not an 808) and WHERE DID THE LEAD SYNTH COME FROM? Both are classic sounds that someone should recognize easily.

That's definitely an 808! The toms are from another machine though.
The synth sounds like a Prophet-5.

i love it when people say this is some classic shit that you should just know and they don't. All of the drums are from an 808. I doubt that lead is a preset either back then preset libraries were pretty on existent or tried to emulate real instruments (badly) Try a short square wave played at a high octave should be easy to recreate.
