Help with drums

I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. It seems like every time I lay a drum track it sounds wack. I dont know how to explain it, but if I were to descibe it I would say it sounds "empty." I can't seem to get a "bangin" drum track going, they all just sound kinda lame. I'm just wondering if I should be using some kind of effects or EQ or something of that nature for my kicks, snares, hats, etc. to get my drums sounding fuller. Any advice? Thanks for the help FP.

EQ, Compression and layering are the keys to bangin drums. Make sure your drum sounds are good from the get go cuz you can't polish a turd ya know? Experiment... throw a bit grunger on em for that old school lo fi sound.

compression and eq are most important tools when building drum kits. Layering helps but its not always needed. i can make a bangin drum kit without layering at all.
