Good free/cheap string pads to put with piano?

    Dear Anyone.

I'm a wannabe New Age composer so I'm not looking for realistic strings, but good pad strings. Rich, full pad strings that don't sound screechy round and mellow, like you'd hear on a spa music CD. (Kevin Kern, Mike Rowland, Aeoliah, y'know, New Age!!)

I've got Dexed, Kontakt, Absynth (but no sounds due to computer corruption, just the player part) Firebird. The one I'm holding out most hope for is Dexed - I LURVE Dexed sounds but there's, like, a zillion out there and they've all got weird names and I've no idea which would be good string pads, especially as changing the numbers in its little numbers box (Dexed owners will know what I mean) can totally change the sound anyway. Even nice, warm soundfonts? But I want the finished result to sound YouTube/CD-worthy, taking my mixing skills into account....

Any ideas, anyone? If there's a free/cheap VST with a good string patch I'll be happy....

    Yours hopefully
