Finding thr right sample

I'm dancing so what!!
Sometimes I think I found the right sample loop or chop and I realized that its dosent even sound good does this happen to you or is it just me and I need to step up my sampling game.?
 
Happens sometimes . . . I just push it to the side and store it away. Comeback to it about a week or so later and try you hand at it again. Also just play with the sample, chop it up in all sorts of ways, play it in reverse, etc. you may hear something or get an idea just from messing around with it.

The same thing has been goin on with me...the way i deal with it is I just sit there and listen to the sample..maybe for like 10 to 15 minutes and just visualize what drums i want...what strings...bass...whatever it may be. If I just listen and let the idea come to me rather than chase after it, my tracks ALWAYS come out better...hope this helps...
