Finding loops in a record

in my usual productions, i use samples and modify them to make a melody, however, i thought it might be time to expand on that. I've been listening to various records that have different time signatures and was wondering how to identify a piece that could possibly be used for a loop. Much thanks.

Lol it's all up to you. If you hear a loop on a record that you think would make a good beat, record it, and loop it.

Almost anything is loopable, I mea nyou can loop something just 2 beats long if you want, also try playing back loops off time, ie if you filter a loop a bit that has drums and they are not too obvious you can get away with looping it at different points so you can change how the melody works

i mean, i've been listening to other time signatures and they seem impossible to sample. jazz too, is hard. any suggestions?

Yeah, some jazz records are just too crazy for me to even come up with an idea or figure out the time sig for a loop.

stop overthinking it...whataver feels good to you.
thats it. end of discussion
