Extracting a high pitched sound

Is it possible to extract a high pitched sound in a whole track ?
Like the moog sound from the Funky Worm, or that high pitched twist in Dr. Dre's Still DRE
Is there a way to extract just that high pitched sound from the drums and other stuff?

I'd appreciate a lil' bit detailed answer, cuz I'm a new producer. :)

I'm new myself but I'm learning and can probably answer this.

If you're talking about that bell/plucked string sound, it's easy to do by finding a gap where its played or you can find a similar sound in a synth patch. Between where Snoop says: "Still snoop dog and DRE" and Dre saying "Guess who's back", there's a good 2 seconds where it's in isolation. Cut out that part of the clip and you have it. Just make sure you find a high quality version of it (flac file or vinyl would be best).

Edit: And of course there's an instrumental version of it which may help you more, but I quoted the lyrics to illustrate where you should think about how the process works.
