Can anyone give me a short tutorial on how to load a sample into a new live set, make the vocals in the sample sound like that classic kanye west chipmunk style, and adjust the tempo to something usable for a hip hop beat?

i dont have ableton open but heres a quick tutorial that may or may not work....

1. set your tempo to what you want
2. put the sample into sampler
3. use the transpose the pitch it up to a sound you like
4. record enable
5. go to the real time view (arrangement?)
6. record the sample on to the track
7. timestretch

can you explain "timestretch" in a bit more detail

and what about chopping up the sample?

okay new plan...

1. chop the sample how you want it to be chopped
2. record the pieces in time/tempo in arrangement view
3. if not already done so select and consolidate the audio clip (command-j)
4. double click the audio clip to see the waves in greater detail
5. look around and find the tranpose button
6. turn it up till you find a pitch you like
7. if you need more help or this doesnt work tell me

why bother with time stretch? Kanye didn't time stretch for that style. The ASR10 was inaccurate as hell for time stretching. Just saying besides you can hear the gaps in the chops. Honestly the process is as simple as create a loop, set the pitch find the tempo chop it up and create.
