Bryson Tiller Lo-Fi Sample Effect?

Hey all,

In Bryson Tiller's "The Sequence" prod by Sango, he samples Shai's "Sexual" throughout the entire song.

(I am not allowed to post links yet b/c of new user)

So from the get go (literally at 0:00 he has that low pass/mixed with a certain type of EQing effect that I can't seem to achieve on my samples. Is it dependent largely on the sample itself? If it isn't...does anyone know how to achieve that sound?

The effect on the sample puts it in the back as well as makes it pop, not sure how that works lol....

Any help would be appreciated!

The underwater effect works by a) resampling (use Decimort or any other bitcrusher) and down sample it THEN use a Low Pass filter. This achieves both the Lo-Fi and Underwater effect. Hope this helps

Also you can export your samples with a lower but depth, half of the sample rate or more.

This will essentially distort those higher frequencies into much lower ones, giving you a slightly different sound than the high pass filter.

Worth experimenting with.

Hope it helps.
