is it bad to sample the beginning of a song

what if the vocals u want to sample have instruments behind and it doesnt blend well with the melody that u chopped up. do u extract the instruments. what type of filter. or would i need acapella

You sample what you want, and what sounds hot. The only thing you risk is using parts of a song that have already been ripped to sh!t, or you end up missing out on some killer chops in other parts of the song.
