So I am almost finished with this beat I have been working on and out of curiosity I went online to see who else sampled it. Sure enough Rick Ross' "Oil Money Gang" has the same sample and that song is too similar to mine. Its not exactly the same, but we both used the same part of the song as the loop and its too similar for me to feel comfortable finishing the beat or putting it online for sale. It would be different if I had chopped the hell out of the sample and made it unrecognizable, which is something I usually do anyway but decided not to on this track. Have any of you guys experienced this where your beat and a big name artists are too similar to the point where you don't wanna seem unoriginal and put yours up for sale? I usually check WhoSampled before deciding to make a beat, but I didn't with this one because I was just in the zone.
