AKAI SAMPLE CD's / MPC1000

how can i use the AKAI sample cds in conjuntion with the MPC1k, do i need just a SCSI cd reader, if so how would i be able to pull sounds off the cd? or do i need to go through the process of converting them all through a program into say Sampletank to call them up? i would just to know if its possible to use the samples on the AKAI cds through the 1k and not have to turn my computer on?
 
hmm.. u don't want to use the computer? You're gonna need an akai sampler then.
