Why don't people just keep dynamics like this release?

This is a release I found that I like. I noticed it isn't as brickwall loud like other tracks. Why not make it more chilled like this?

 
My god, them highs will tear someones face off. That sounds and looks pretty squashed to me?!?! Am i missing something here? I see very little dynamics from the softer parts and peak transients?
 
play this on a loudspeaker at a venue with high resonance and people will be crying from their ears
 
I couldn't image that pumping through 5000 watts or even 1000. Time to get a hearing test to make sure you can hear those upper frequencies.
 
yeah, this seemed very brickwalled /squashed, I've heard louder songs with better dynamics than this ....
