and what are some techniques you guys use to do it? I just saw that video from Tiffany Miranda on PMP...and I found it very interesting how she uses a wireless mouse to press record from her vocal booth...Do any of you have some similar techniques to aid the process...

I didn't realize it was that tricky to record yourself for some people. I don't have a formal studio setup. I just have a studio apartment. I pretty much pull my mic a few feet away, put on my headphones, and hope no one knocks on my door and that my cat doesn't meow. Luckily I go for a junky kind of aesthetic.

Fa sho. I beat box over my condenser mic in a lil booth I got setup. Hell, sometimes I don't wait for the booth, I'll just beatbox in a corner of my room, and add effects to clean it up.

    Yo here's what I do.

I have a precount going on, so I know when to beat box.
Another method of doing it just have a count going on... and catch the beat whenever I'm ready. That way you can move the waveforms back and forth, regardless of where it is and it'll sync up.

I dunno if you have money to blow...but if you wanna do something a little more advanced, you could get a wireless mouse, and a video card with two monitor ports... and then get a long VGA cord and a flat screen monitor...then mount it in your booth. Then, when your ready, you can press record and you'll be good to go.

Sounds interesting...I think I am going to get a wireless Keyboard, and just press record when I am ready. I'll give it a 10 second lag so i know when to come in and as soon as I do my take go fix it or whatever.......
