What do you all consider yourselves?
Example: I am a artist/producer/engineer
I am sure some of you just produce or some of you just engineer.
These days more and more people do it all.
Please share! What, in your own mind, are you best at?

I'm an artist/producer. Far from an engineer, but someday..

I see myself as a mastering engineer. Though I have been known to mix on occasion. In my past career I did a lot of straight to stereo recording and multitrack mixing. It helps with giving advice / feedback on mixes so I am very pleased I came from those engineering origins.

I'm an artist, producer, and engineer. I am a mediocre artist. I like gettin on hooks or a 3rd verse or somethin but I don't enjoy it enough to put togethor a mixtape or somethin.
Mostly I produce and when I meet local people through friends that are good at rapping I engineer too. I'm not great but I feel like I can put togethor a close to radio ready song, which I guess is mixtape quality.
I am an artist. I also produce and engineer. The only reason I got into producing and engineering was because I wanted to get my business going and I couldn't find people I trust to work with, so I did it myself.

I am a mixing engineer. However, I have dipped in none short of the following:
Performing, writing, consulting, installation, production, arrangement, composition, bass, keys, programming, tracking, mastering, and live sound. Yikes!
I played bass on a punk rock song last week... God help us all...
I used to be strictly a producer and slowly become more of a mixer. Now I am mainly a mix engineer, but still produce a few records here and there. Although I don't talk about it, I am also a publisher and place a lot of records I work on in TV.
In my former life I also was heavily involved on the business side of things. I ran several record labels, one of which I got picked up by Universal. I also managed a charting artist with a national footprint. And I would do lots of odd business consulting jobs. These days I avoid the label and management stuff like the plague. I do some consulting if someone keeps hounding me enough where the pain of doing the consult is less than the repetitive phone calls asking me to do it LOL.

I like the creation and putting together of various sounds.
I am a mix engineer. I started off as a dj mixing in clubs and that got me into producing remixes in such. Although I play piano and producer my own tracks from time to time, I would not consider myself an artist nor a producer. At least not by title. Because there are a lot of talented folks out there who truly deserve the title of artist or producer. So I would say I am a engineer by trade and I dabble as an artist and producer.
