I mainly record r&b and every song is different lol. When doing backgrounds I do 4 takes on each harmony. Other melody line I do 2 and pan them. You can get very creative ya know. But whatever my focus vocal is and if I feel it should be multiple takes I got for 4 stack mostly. What kind of music so you recording?

I usually do harmonies and doubles on the chorus. Then have them accentuate words or phrases on verses depending on the song itself.
