Trouble recording into Ableton

So i bought a mic, specifically the cad u37 and its great. The problem that im having is that when I record over a beat, the vocals are offbeat, slower than the track. I read some stuff about it being the latency I went into the options and messed around with it, but I don't really know what im doing. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Make sure your audio card is set to 256 or even better 128 ms latency for input. Then go to your audio preferences in ableton and set the driver type to ASIO if your on pc. If your on a mac I think its core audio but don't quote me on that.

In ableton go to your preferences, audio tab and set the latency to something lower. The lower you go the less latency you will have but the downside is that you will now have less power for processing plugins. If you have to you can always freeze tracks or bounce to audio to free up cpu power. Sub level was right with using 128 or 256, that usually works but is some cases you might need to go lower. But just remember once you are down recording and now its time to mix you will probably need to bump that back up to 512 or higher. (alot depends on your computer)
