Random Whitenoise through Monitors

I recently had my PC crash last month. I was able to recover my data and all, and everything seemed to be fine.

However, twice in the past 10 studio hours, extremely loud whitenoise started coming through my monitors with no warning at all... It has to be coming from the soundcard itself because it was also coming through the headphones, which are linked to a headphone amp. I am worried about this because there is no rhyme or reason to it.

Anyone have any ideas on what this could be or how to fix it?

I have an internal SC- M-Audio Audiophile 192.

oh... only time ive had problems with white noise was caused by my power supply in my pc oddly enough... and another time my power bar was giving feedback...

Could it be from a cel phone?

Ghost- your power supply? I'm pretty sure my power supply is good on my comp... maybe not though is there a way to troubleshoot it?

Lev- I thought that too, but I've been producin for about 7 years now, and have always had my cell in the studio wit no issues....

Could it have anything to do with the wires touching the hardwood floor?

When the white noise did come on, how far apart was the white noise from one instance to another?

actually i dont think so... im not sure if thats your problem but i just swapped out my power supply and the noise was gone... i put that one back in and the noise was back....
