What you guys think about this mic? As I learn more about mics i think this has great ideas for a budget dynamic mic to make it sound more like higher level broadcasting dynamic mics. at first i assumed it was all novelty junk on it but now im seeing most of what it offers as major benefits to someone like me who does video game commentaries and other talking audio recording work. i have my mic stand on a desk close to a pretty loud computer. it is supercardioid so should pick up less noise than most dynamic mics around it. it has a large diaphragm and uses elements to capture more detail like a condenser mic which is better for spoken word. it has a built in shock mount in it to reduce vibration and handling noise. right now i have a towel under my mic stand to reduce vibration pick up from my rumbling computer. it has reduced proximity effect so less bass reduction required when using eq and should also be less nasal than a normal dynamic handheld mic when you are up close to it.
right now i have tried the following mics:
AT2035 - Great but picked up my computer fan too much
RE320 - Awesome no problems with it. I am happy with it but I like trying new mics anyway. ND767A seems similar to it.
SM57 - A little less detailed than id like and a little too nasal but gets the job done and has a lot of presence to it.
SM58 - Same as the SM57. seems a little better less metalic flat sounding than the SM57 in some of its levels.
